The Distant Past
Every since I was young, I always loved motorcycles. I remember when my stepdad first got one and I couldn’t stop looking at it. I still have a small scar on my leg from the first time I learned about the heat of an exhaust pipe. I eventually began riding dirt bikes when I was younger and then had borrowed a friend’s Kawasaki LTD 440 to ride from Simi Valley to my job in Beverly Hills a few times. This was back in the day before there were helmet laws and you could actually feel the wind in your hair. I had an RM 250 that I completely built up and replaced every bolt with allen head bolts… one of the advantages of working at a Threaded Fastener company at the time. Eventually I sold the bike and life became complicated and there was no time to ride.
